w One Tree Hill Wikipedia

The main storyline is originally the relationship between the two half-brothers Lucas Scott (Chad Michael Murray) and Nathan Scott (James Lafferty), both of whom start out as enemies but bond as friends and as brothers as the show progresses. With the help of Keith (Craig Sheffer), Coach Brian "Whitey" Durham (Barry Corbin) recruits Lucas on the team. Nathan has the same love for basketball as Lucas. As Lucas falls in love with Peyton Sawyer (Hilarie Burton), who happens to be Nathan's girlfriend and later ex, Nathan falls in love with Lucas's best friend, Haley James (Bethany Joy Galeotti). Lucas later dates and falls in love with Brooke Davis (Sophia Bush). Both brothers share the same father Dan Scott (Paul Johansson), who is also Keith's brother. After having a high school relationship with Karen Roe (Moira Kelly), Dan conceived Lucas but never claimed him as his son; he did claim Nathan. After leaving Karen, he meets and quickly marries Deb Scott (Barbara Alyn Woods), with whom he conceives Nathan. Although having been married for seventeen years, they divorce and choose different paths. Deb starts having alcoholic problems on and off, until she finally recovers. She also begins a strong friendship, and later partnership, with Karen against Dan's will. However, in the later seasons, the show focuses less on them and the three of them leave the show. Karen marries her college professor, Andy Hargrove (Kieren Hutchison), Dan realizes his sins and temporarily leaves the town, and Deb returns to Tree Hill after an absence but eventually leaves.

Besides a love for hoops, it would seem that Lucas and Nathan are two young men with little in common - except for the dark secret that they share the same father. Arrogant and assured, Nathan is the star of the high school basketball team and hails from the wealthiest family in town. Quiet, brooding and driven, Lucas is a loner, the only child of a single working mom. He's always kept his distance from Nathan. But their lives collide when a twist of fate puts Lucas on Nathan's team. The rumor that's haunted the boys since childhood now becomes more than just whispers as the half-brothers compete not only for control of the court, but also for the heart of Nathan's girlfriend. So unfolds a deep and bitter conflict that's been years in the making; one that will play itself out in their homes, their hearts and at school as they struggle to come to terms with who they really are - and the fact that they may have more in common than they ever imagined.

A youth-oriented drama following the lives of a group of friends in North Carolina from high school through postcollegiate life.

tv One Tree Hill TV.com

Set in the fictional small town of Tree Hill, NC, this teen-driven drama tells the story of two half brothers, who share a last name and nothing else. Brooding, blue-collar Lucas is a talented street-side basketball player, but his skills are appreciated only by his friends at the river court. Popular, affluent Nathan basks in the hero-worship of the town, as the star of his high school team. And both boys are the son of former college ball player, Dan Scott, whose long ago choice to abandon Lucas and his mother Karen, will haunt him long into his life with wife Deb, and their son Nathan. Until now, Dan has managed to keep his two sons far from each other. But the past and present collide sharply when Tree Hill's basketball coach recruits Lucas for his team, much to the chagrin of Nathan and Daddy Dan. And the siblings natural rivalry only intensifies when they set their sights on the same girl, Peyton Sawyer. The residue of the past lingers far into the future for the residents of Tree Hill, even as a new generation is rising. Tree Hill follows the lives and loves of these two brothers, their friends and their family as they navigate high school, marriage, and finally... adulthood. One Tree Hill theme song:
I don't want to be by Gavin DeGraw
I don't want to be
Anything other than what I've been trying to be lately
All I have to do
Is think of me and I have peace of mind
I'm tired of looking 'round rooms
Wondering what I've got to do
Or who I'm supposed to be
I don't want to be anything other than me

"Tree Hill is just a place somewhere in the world. Maybe it's a lot like your world. Maybe it's nothing like it. But if you look closer, you might see someone like you."
Aside from their love of basketball, Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) and Nathan Scott (James Lafferty) have very little in common, but their shared father will forever connect their lives in ways they could never imagine. Their father, Dan Scott (Paul Johansson), abandoned Lucas and chose to raise Nathan in his image -- a life of luxury and basketball that molded him into the star of the Tree Hill Ravens basketball team that he has become. Lucas was raised by his single mother, Karen Roe (Moira Kelly), with help from his uncle, Keith Scott (Craig Sheffer). He kept his distance from Nathan, but his love of basketball led their worlds to collide when the Ravens' coach, Whitey Durham (Barry Corbin), put Lucas on the team. As the brothers take the court, side-by-side, Lucas and Nathan struggle to come to terms with the past that has haunted both boys their entire life. However, though basketball, and the slow road to discovering themselves, Lucas and Nathan soon find that they have more in common than they could have ever imagined.
When the Ravens aren't on the court, the lives of the citizens of Tree Hill, a picturesque ocean-side town, are connected in webs of passion, betrayal, and lies. From the beginning, Lucas had his eye on Peyton Sawyer (Hilarie Burton), a cheerleader and Nathan's former girlfriend, but has an on-again, off-again relationship with Brooke Davis (Sophia Bush) as Peyton struggles with her true feelings. Lucas' best friend, Haley James (Bethany Joy Lenz) is able to see past the "bad boy" front that Nathan puts up and finds in him an unexpected love. Their relationship soon blossoms into marriage and together they fight against the odds to make it as a teenaged married couple.
Starting with the fifth season, the series fast-forwarded four years into the future, following the lives of the five young adults as they begin their lives in the real world. Nathan and Haley are struggling with the pressures of being young, married parents; Lucas, after writing and publishing his first novel, works to find inspiration for his second book all while coaching the Tree Hill Ravens; Brooke owns and runs her own fashion company, Clothes Over Bro's; and Peyton works to find her way into the music industry by starting her own record label.
While the lives of these five young adults continue to intertwine in the midst of the joy and devastating tragedy that comes their way, lives are changed forever as they deal with decisions made years ago, as well as the ones made daily, that continue to shape the world around them
