Desperate Housewives IMDB
Secrets and truths unfold through the lives of female friends in one suburban neighborhood, after the mysterious suicide of a neighbor.
Desperate Housewives TV Guide
Following her suicide, Mary Alice Young keeps tabs on friends and family she left behind on bucolic suburban Wisteria Lane. But this being a prime-time soap (if a tongue-in-cheek one), they all harbor a sordid secret or two. Created by writer-producer Marc Cherry (a 'Golden Girls' alum), 'Housewives' was an instant hit and has been a frequent contender on Emmy night ever since.
Desperate Housewives TV.com
Approximately twelve years ago, on a sunny day, in the loveliest of suburbs, in a town called Fairview, housewife Mary Alice Young (Brenda Strong) decided to end it all. Now she takes us into the lives of her friends, family and neighbors, introducing us to their relationships, their problems, and their secrets... Her circle of girlfriends on Wisteria Lane includes Susan Delfino (Teri Hatcher), a known klutz who recently moved away from her home due to financial situations; Lynette Scavo (Felicity Huffman), who has just given birth to a fifth child; Bree Van de Kamp (Marcia Cross), whose complicated life erupted once she lost her catering company to blackmail and her husband walked out on her; the ex-model turned housewife Gabrielle Solis (Eva Longoria), who finds herself chasing after two daughters and now dealing with a huge secret she's been told. The ladies now welcome their new neighbor, Renee Perry (Vanessa Williams), a former college roommate of Lynette's, who is sure to shake things up on the street. Then there are the men: Mike Delfino (James Denton), Susan's husband, a charming plumber; Lynette's adorable husband, Tom (Doug Savant), who always stays by his wife's side despite many challenges; Gabrielle's husband, Carlos (Ricardo Antonio Chavira), who works hard to provide for his wife and daughters; and Paul Young (Mark Moses), a so-called "baddie" who has returned to the lane (after a while in prison) with plans for vengeance up his sleeve.
And finally there are the gay couple, Bob (Tuc Watkins) and Lee (Kevin Rahm), who moved from the city for a quieter, more peaceful life, and local busybody Karen McCluskey (Kathryn Joosten). From her unique vantage point, Mary Alice sees more now than she ever did alive, and she's planning to share all the delicious secrets that hide behind every neighbor's closed door in this seemingly perfect American suburb."Desperate Housewives" currently stars Brenda Strong as Mary Alice Young, Teri Hatcher as Susan Delfino, Felicity Huffman as Lynette Scavo, Marcia Cross as Bree Van de Kamp, Eva Longoria as Gabrielle Solis, Vanessa Williams as Renee Perry, James Denton as Mike Delfino, Ricardo Antonio Chavira as Carlos Solis, Doug Savant as Tom Scavo, Mark Moses as Paul Young, Kevin Rahm as Lee McDermott, Tuc Watkins as Bob Hunter and Kathryn Joosten as Karen McCluskey. Marc Cherry ("The Golden Girls") is executive producer and creator. "Desperate Housewives" is produced by Touchstone Television and is the winner of both the 2005 and 2006 Golden Globe Award for "Best Television Series - Musical or Comedy".
Desperate Housewives TV Rage
Narrated by the late Mary Alice Young, Desperate Housewives takes viewers inside Wisteria Lane, a small section of suburban America that's anything but ordinary. This primetime soap delves deep into the lives of a circle of women with a mix dark humor and drama that helps expose the truth that things are never as they seem.
The tale of these women started with the death of one of their own, Mary Alice Young (Brenda Strong). Even though she is a resident of Wisteria no longer, she guides us through the daily lives of her close friends, family and neighbors from her unique and all-seeing point of view.
The women of Wisteria include Susan Mayer (Teri Hatcher), a single mother and divorcee, struggling to raise her teenaged daughter, Julie (Andrea Bowen), all while going to extreme lengths to find the man of her dreams, who may be her neighbor, Mike Delfino (James Denton). Lynette Scavo (Felicity Huffman) is a mother four who is dealing with the change of going from a stay-at-home mom to a career woman as she helps her husband Tom (Doug Savant) open their own pizzeria. Bree Van De Kamp (Marcia Cross), the quintessential Martha Stewart-esque housewife, presents a calm and collected exterior, but is dealing with the pain of losing her husband, Rex (Steven Culp), the challenge of raising two rebellious children, Danielle (Joy Lauren) and Andrew (Shawn Pyfrom), and her second marriage to the mysterious Orson Hodge (Kyle MacLachlan). Gabrielle Solis (Eva Longoria) had it all -- a successful modeling career, an equally successful husband, Carlos (Ricardo Antonio Chavira) and a large house -- but with the end of her marriage, Gabrielle must learn how to make it on her own. Lastly Edie Britt (Nicollette Sheridan), the self made successful real estate agent whose love life is at the top of everyone's gossip list.
Wiseria Lane has experienced it's share of mysterious comings and goings. From the Applewhite family, including Betty (Alfre Woodard) and Matthew (Mehcad Brooks) who wasted no time in getting tangled up in the drama of Wisteria, to the family Mary Alice left behind: Paul (Mark Moses) and Zach (Cody Kasch).
With Mary Alice watching over her former neighbors' every move, no bit of juicy gossip goes unnoticed, despite how the residents try their hardest to keep it locked behind closed doors.Opening Them
